Successful Application of Rotational Liner Running and Cementing Technology at the Rechitsa Field (Republican Unitary Enterprise "Production Association (RUP PO) Belarusneft)

The TSS Group continues successful implementation of well completion projects using advanced technologies. The next stage has been completed at the Rechitsa Field for the Customer, which was the Republican Unitary Enterprise Production Association (RUP PO) Belarusneft.

To solve the set forth problems, a liner hanger system, which can rotate the liner during its running and well cementing operations, was elaborated nad manufactured.

The application of this system can:

  • Reduce the resistance during string running into the well and ensure that the string reaches the design liner depth with elevated contact friction and unstable borehole walls.
  • Improve cleaning of the annulus due to effective removal of the drilling fluid from the borehole walls.
  • Cut down the risk of channeling and improper compression during cementing by uniform distribution of cement slurry around the string.
  • Increase the cement adhesion strength to the borehole and string walls by removing contaminants and wetting films, thereby improving cement adhesion to the rock and the string.
  • Decrease the risk of sedimentation and segregation of the cement slurry by keeping its flow to reduce the deposition of heavy particles and the separation of water
  • Ensure uniform pressure distribution in the cement annulus, which minimizes the risk of column displacement and local cementing defects.

The technology has proven its effectiveness and will be further employed in the projects with stricter requirements for the quality of the liner securing and the reliability of the wellbore insulation.
